The 2,000-square-foot addition includes a 1,000-square-foot renovation of the existing house, a small, plain bungalow. In developing the design, Bull City Architect drew inspiration from the houses of Mr. Iverson's childhood home town of Coral Gables, and from various Spanish Revival houses in Durham.Entertaining guests and cooking elaborate meals were two main factors that led to the open, modern floorplan. A two-story greenhouse allows for expansion of their growing collection of exotic plants.
